Meet Dr. Elizabeth Razdolsky Michalczyk
Elizabeth “Liz” Razdolsky Michalczyk, DMD, PhD has been an integral part of the Forever Smiles team since 2018. She earned her bachelor’s degree in neurobiology from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. While there, Dr. Liz’s lab team conducted several studies into bone cancer biology leading to numerous clinical trials and therapeutic discoveries. She then completed a seven-year dual-degree program at the University of Illinois at Chicago, earning both her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in tissue engineering & wound healing. Finally, Dr. Liz completed her craniofacial fellowship and orthodontic certificate in Atlanta, Georgia.
In addition to being a first-class clinical orthodontist, Dr. Elizabeth Razdolsky Michalczyk is also a renown scientific author, as well as an accomplished scientist, dedicating her time as the craniofacial orthodontist to Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago treating infants and children with cleft lip/palate disorders. Dr. Liz received the prestigious Recognition of Excellence in Research from her work at Emory University. She has also been nominated to the Pierre Fauchard Academy honoring excellence in dentistry. Furthermore, top journals including the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal, Scientific Reports (Nature), Wound Healing Society, American Journal of Physiology, Orthotown, and Dentistry Review have published Dr. Liz’s work in the bone regeneration, wound-healing, and orthodontic fields. Dr. Liz is a member of the American Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, and is an ambassador for the Illinois State Dental Society. Dr. Liz combines her expertise in the research field with customized, evidenced-based, and compassionate care to create the optimal smile for her patients. Her knowledge of the latest innovations and technologies ensures that Forever Smiles remains ahead of the curve in improving the oral health of our patients.
Dr. Liz brings a fresh and innovative approach to creating the optimal smile for both children and adults. Her research and clinical background, combined with her craniofacial fellowship and orthodontic residency, position her at the very forefront of the orthodontic field. Throughout her 16 + years of experience, she has established herself as a dynamic thought leader in the field.
Outside the office, Dr. Liz enjoys:
- Staying active with tennis and fitness
- Spending time outdoors with her dog, especially on the lakefront
- Trying new foods from various cuisines and cultures from around the world.
